Project profile / Remote Canada
Northern network operations at regional scale.
Five years of technical and operational leadership for the sole regional provider serving remote communities, commercial clients, municipal services, and industrial stakeholders.
The operating challenge
Keep geographically dispersed infrastructure and subscriber services operational to a 99.9% target where there is no easy fallback provider and distance, weather, access, and vendor lead times complicate every technical decision.
The responsibility
Build daily, weekly, and monthly NOC verification; coordinate network and outside-plant resources; prepare failover and emergency procedures; maintain inventory, records, and safety systems; and develop local technical capacity.
The durable outcome
An operating framework that scaled the technical team from one operator to five, retained institutional knowledge through staff changes, earned safety recognition, and completed the five-year tenure with no major outage attributed to operational failure.
Field principle
Documentation is not overhead. In remote operations, it is part of the infrastructure.
